The short-order breakfast that I have come to love from places like Bernardo's and even Rio City Cafe has a infiltrator in their midst! And it comes by name of Lawry's Seasoning Salt! Too often of late have I gone into an establishment and have been subject to this seasoning absurdity! Now I know that this is a small issue compared too so many, in this industry and others, but it is just something that I cannot get past! From paying anywhere to $10-$25 a breakfast one would think a little thought, or execution was put into the dish, but I find more and more often this not the case.
And although I do pride myself on my palette, it could take someone much less skilled than I to discern the home-cooked flavor of this store-bought "non-MSG" salt flavoring! From my breakfast potatoes to ...are you ready? The garish sprinkling on my egg's Benedict from Rio City Cafe it has seemed to take over this city!
I fully acknowledge that this culinary wasteland known as Sacramento is not the Mecca that New York, Vegas, or LA--- Let's not even add the International destinations that put the American one's to shame! But we would think that even with our limited abilities that Sacramento and her restaurants would be able to scrounge up some rosemary and olive oil or just a smattering of any/ other herbs to heighten the flavor experience outside of something I could find in the back of my mama's kitchen cabinet!
So here's a shout out to all kitchen's who are guilty to this abominable habit (especially Rio City Cafe, you were soo good once) find a new idea that does not come in a plastic bottle, people are tired (I know I am) of eating something that tastes like it came out of the frozen french fry isle!

haha...so TRUE!!! we pay for quality, not the safeway special :) go girl!!!!!
