New York Adventures - Part Une - Fireworks, Milk & Honey, and Cognac!

OK, so from the moment I stepped on my horrendous flight to NYC I was immediately relieved that I was saved from at least a week of my tyrannical boss's tendencies and my do-gooder wanna-be job! and on to the big city! So once the flight landed and I somehow managed to make my way to queens even without a car service we jumped into the Hi, how are yous? and my favorite part 209 Gin! So through fireworks, watermelon martini's and some outstanding herbal goodies Independence day has never been so good! So as a non-tourist tourist in NYC I made my way to the Metropolitan Museum of Art for some cultural enrichment, and i do love a good gift shop! But the real toast of the Sunday in NY was the Milk and Honey experience! http://www.jaunted.com/files/4912/milk_and_honey.jpg
an exclusive "speakeasy" for "members only" and open to only the "acceptable" public. Ok so New yorkers are realllly into there scenes and this place was a great example of it:

Milk & Honey House Rules
  1. No name-dropping, no star fucking.
  2. No hooting, hollering, shouting or other loud behaviour.
  3. No fighting, play fighting, no talking about fighting.
  4. Gentlemen will remove their hats. Hooks are provided.
  5. Gentlemen will not introduce themselves to ladies.
Ladies, feel free to start a conversation or ask the bartender to introduce you. If a man you don't know speaks to you, please lift your chin slightly and ignore him.
  6. Do not linger outside the front door.
  7. Do not bring anyone unless you would leave that person alone in your home. You are responsible for the behaviour of your guests.
  8. Exit the bar briskly and silently. People are trying to sleep across the street. Please make all your travel plans and say all farewells before leaving the bar.
I know right!!! but despite the "very important" rules, the drinks were quite OUTSTANDING! from:

  • Penicillin - Scotch, peated scotch, lemon, honey, ginger
  • Airmail - Rum, honey, lime
  • Peach Blow Fizz - Gin, strawberry, cream, soda
  • Bee's Kiss - cream, honey, aged dark rum! (personal fav)

And these were just as sampling of the drinks!
Well after the yumminess and pretense of the exclusive drinking club were over I touristed myself through central park, the MoMa, St. Patricks Cathedral, Bryant Park, the Staten Island Ferry then the real creme del la creme was the Brandy Library.

Not only was it absolutely exquisite in flavor, but it was refined and freeflowing. Along with the flight tastings of Cognac including: Remy Martin VSOP, Kelt VSOP, Gousseland VSOP, Brandy Library cognac XO, Prunier XO, Mystery Cognac along with a smooth as sin
Rocky Patel Vintage 1990 cigar!

But when in good company it's a good thing to share so we also explored a Burbon flight: Sazerac Rye, Rittenhouse rye bonded, Prichard’s Double Berrel bourbon, Four Rose’s single Barrel, Evan William’s Single Barrel, Mystery Bourbon
and a Rum flight: 10 cane, Appleton Extra, Motecristo 12, Barbancourt 15, Clement VSOP, Mystery Rum
