Garlic Steak Never Tasted So Good!!

That's right folks, Jamie's Bar & Grill, a local known secret way down on Broadway past the projects and right before front street, this place has seen the being community build up and torn down throughout the time it's been there. With a very local pub flavor there are no glossy touches to this place, just heavily poured drinks and good food!
Recently famous because of their appearance on the Food Networks "Diner, Drive-In's, and Dives" with Guy Ferreri this place definitely lives up to it's appeal. All the meats are cured in-house by Jamie himself during the day and served up fresh that night.

Their Award-Winning Clam Chowder which was Outstanding full of clams, bacon, cream sauce, and something spicy at the end that they claimed was the "trade secret" is made by Jamie himself. This chowder was so good that many a New England, Red Sox loving, Chowder eating fan has been converted! And their ability to serve up fish well does not stop at clam chowder but pours over to their crab cakes as well, not only are they the size of hamburger patties, but some of the most delicious and freshest Dungeness crab cakes I've had an ability to try. Now as most of us foodies know the "normal" fare for crab cakes is an overly bready, overly seasoned concoction of artificial disappointment, THIS is not that experience! These at the very least are worth the journey, and we haven't even talked about the Garlic Steak Sandwich!

Ok, So the Garlic Steak Sandwich, depicted above is only half a serving. This sandwich meat, aka Fillet Mignon is marinated in an olive oil & garlic marinade for a least a day before it is seared up to a medium-rare an slapped on a hogie roll! Holy goodness! Now I know you Sacramento natives are probably thinking about the Pheasant Club, and how there reputed to have the best Garlic Steak Sandwich, THEY DON'T, just a heads up!

NY Steak Sandwich

So for a great sandwich and a well poured drink on the other side of town, skip the usual Willies and Tower cafe, and check out the good eats further down the street!
