BORN Yume Wa Masayume - Dreams Come True
Brewed by the Kato Kichibei brewery from Fukui, this sake is undiluted and aged for five years. It is light, crisp, and flavorful like juicy pineapples and mangoes.
Although there were a fare number of favorites still in the bunch there was a sizable downsizing in the participating vendors again this year. Utilizing the Sheraton Grand Hotel in Downtown Sacramento the event had the traditional attractions including the Taiko Drum presentation, and the Kagami Biraki or Sake Barrel Breaking Ceremony, and on to the main event the sake!
I love Taiko Drummers! I love that you can hear them from a half mile away, and their so powerful they stop an entire room! Never miss a performance if you get a chance to see them, they are by far one of the most beautiful forms musical percussion!
Born and Iichiko were two of the best sake brands at this event. Born makes "Dreams Come True", as well as "Wings of Japan" and "Iceburg." Iichiko was also serving some wonderful Frasco which was a sharp, and crisp sake at 30% alc.

Good food to be had, but such a huge line that most of the wait was not worth it, it was all prepared rolls drenched in sauces and a few choice pieces of nigiri. A real yum was the Yuzu that was a lemon infusion that was used on everything from rice Vodka to make lemondrops to a dressing for shrimp! Very versiatal! There was also the traditional tasties like pork buns, macha, a event wide blind-sake competition! (much more difficult than it looks)
