Ever come home after a long day and need a really nice pick-me-up? Well that was this Sunday for me, and it was this wine that did it. With this bizarre twist in the weather with hail one minute and sunny skies the next I was looking for the perfect addition to Ina Garten's Parker Stew my mom was crafting for the family dinner - this was perfect.
Bogle 2007 Phantom
Petite Sirah, Old Vine Zinfandel, Old Vine Mourvedre - 2007 -
Soft edges, minerally, robust, jammy, -really drinkable, no aeration needed,
This wine was a beautiful first note to the evenings meal, with blue cheese, honey and local strawberries!
Special Note: The blue cheese that is my current favorite called Blue Clauses from Southern France, it's soft, creamy, yeasty, sweet and sharp - like shortbread cookies and mold
Thanks for the recommendation. I've been seeking a good alternative to Fuego (which is just so darn yummy).
