The Whimsical Notions of Mulvaney's B&L

Whenever I'm looking for a culinary pick-me-up there's nothing better than the whimsical notions of Patrick Mulvaney B & L restaurant. I know what your thinking, there food is always insanely good, solid and without question - so what makes this uncommon dishes better than the norm? Well, there utter lack of any sense of rules when thinking of the concepts behind food, and what could be better than that?

Depicted above is just one such mad hatter notion, a cayenne infused marshmallow puff, popcorn, chocolate sauce and foie gras! They called it the Far-fa-nutter, and it tasted like Carmel Popcorn!

Another tasty notion was when Dan Mitchell, legendary bartender, started letting a friend's and my ideas & notions for cocktails fly - from tea infused gin drinks to the entire restaurant receiving full pours from a guests Methuselah bottle of 2007 Paraduxx.

These are the random things that can happen at any given night at Mulvaney's B&L - now don't get me wrong they are super busy most of the time, and are always keeping incredible quality food and service at the forefront of their priorities; but in the in-between times, at the end of the night, the whimsical notions of Patrick Mulvaney's B&L lifts my spirits and make me re-invigorated about the happiness culinary notions can bring.
