Samuel Horn's Tavern: Where Serious Drinking and Eating Mesh

Ever crave a really good burger, and a break from the norm? Like a really good burger. I know there's Burgers and Brew, Nationwide, Squeeze Inn, Famous Burger, and the list goes on. But I wanted a break from the norm. I wanted something new and exciting, so I finally (once again) made it outside the grid and was rewarded for my adventurous efforts. The place is called Samuel Horn's Tavern, and it's called the Johnny Cash Burger.

Johnny Cash Burger ($8.50) Topped with bacon, cheddar cheese, grilled onions, and bourbon-espresso red-eye sauce. And to just step it up an notch I added I added a over easy fried egg (Royal Burger Style). It was insane. More than slightly filling, and perfectly married with the Allagash Curieux (Bourbon Barrel-Aged Tripel).

Because yes that's right general beer drinking public, they have Allagash Curieux on tap. If this doesn't excite you it's just because you've never tried it, or you don't drink Bourbon. It's my favorite beer of it's kind, and very hard to find on tap. Ringing in at 11% and costing a mere $6.00 for an 8oz this was a perfect afternoon diversion to the 102 degree heat.

This place is also engaging to the beer drinking set as they have 16 ever-evolving (turned out every 3-5 days) taps of the highest quality, and an awesome (50+) bottled beer selection. They differ again here, because there bottle selection seeks the unique and eclectic (Crispin's The Saint, Lost Abbey Carnevale, ect...), so other than the changing beer selection they also have new bottles. Always loving locality in everything the best feature (besides that burger) is their 100-mile happy hour (M-F, 4pm-6pm) where any beer brewed within 100 miles is 50% off. I don't know how long this great deal will be going, but I love the concept behind it!
