Tower Bridge Bistro

When first entering the Tuscan-style environment created by those at the Tower Bridge Bistro, one is greeted with a stunning view of the lit up golden Tower Bridge just beyond the floor length windows. When the season is right, you can also enjoy patio seating with spectacular views of the bridge and Sacramento River.
We started off our meal with the seasonal cheese plate to entice the palate. The salad brought to the table shows off the presentation skills the kitchen is capable of, a pealed tomato and sprigs of greens shooting out, finished with a balsamic vinegar reduction. A must-try dish is the drunken scallops: this rich and creamily dressed scallop and lobster tail dish is a standard in their restaurant by consumer demand for a reason. The next dish we to come was the grilled salmon over a potato pancake dressed in a mango and chili oil sauce. The hit to the dish was how the sweetness of the mango and the mild spice of the chili oil wrapped up the dish. Next service was the perfectly cooked lamb adorned with a mint ju that completed a wonderful tasting experience. But given the options we couldn't even stop there, the desert offerings were too tempting. Of the many offered, we tried chocolate-kahlua fondue strawberries served in martini glasses (a romantic edition to any menu), rich chocolate terrine with a crème anglaise and roasted pistachio. The surprise desert turned out to be our most favorite. A delight in textures, honeycomb topped with light and creamy vanilla panna cotta served with a Florentine crisp and drizzled with caramel.
For the vegetarians, Chef Clay will dazzle your taste buds as well. From timely holiday selections such as Matzo Balls made with wild rice encapsulating mozzarella, in both tomato and basil pesto to a poached pear topped with goat cheese and fennel resting on a carrot ginger sauce and a splash of chili oil brought a surprise heat to the delightfully new flavor combination. Truly, Tower Bridge Bistro is a surprise treasure to vegetarian dining in Sacramento.
The accompanying wine list features many prominent selections that make each course utterly enjoyable, of particular note was the Charles Krug Cabernet Sauvignon and Sonoma Cutter chardonnay both available by the glass.
Using mostly local, and the freshest ingredients from Sacramento and Northern California, Chef Clay Purcell brings new, playful, fresh and vibrant flavors to Tower Bridge Bistro. While Tower Bridge Bistro is not owned by the Embassy Suites they are located in the same building; giving a new name to hotel food. Tower Bridge Bistro is located at 100 Capital Mall in Downtown Sacramento serving lunch from 11AM-2PM and dinner from 5PM-10PM daily and Sunday Champagne Brunches from 11AM-2:30PM.
