Mamma Mia! "Mamma Mia, here I go again My my, how can I resist you?" The iconic theatrical performance showcasing ABBA's musical talents took storm at Sacramento's Community Center Theater – with the movie coming out this Summer, ABBA's music has caught a new tide of fans in the production of Mamma Mia. The storyline entails the character of Sophie, a Greek girl with an impending marriage seeking to find the true identity of her father after finding her mother's old dairy. Donna, the mother, then gets to deal with the fallout of three former lovers approaching the scene, on the eve of her only daughters wedding. Hilarity ensues while Donna tries to avoid the former flames while sorting out her feelings about the past and her daughter's future. The cast of this North American leg of the show holds great appeal with their precise comedic timing and flamboyant personalities that perfectly fit this show! A short run doesn't do this feel-good show enough justice, but as it is insanely popular and short-lived, seats are limited, so if you get a chance check it out at the community center theater from April 16-20th. Bringing great shows continually to the community center theater is California Musical Theater, and if your not fortunate enough to catch Mamma Mia and all their flamboyant glory get seats early for what's next, Phantom of the Opera running from May 21st thru June 14th.
