The Cosmopolitan Cabaret
1000 K Street (at 10th Street) “Loaded with good clean fun, bubbling energy and some of the ’60’s greatest pop hits, Suds is the delightful story of a young woman and her guardian angels who come to teach her about finding true love in, of all places, a laundromat. Including over 50 favorite songs from the ’60s like “Where the Boys Are,” “These Boots Are Made for Walkin’,” “Respect,” “I Feel Good” and “Do You Want to Know a Secret.”
The four-person cast will include Melissa WolfKlain as Cindy, the sweet, gawky laundromat worker, recently dumped by her pen pal for someone with better penmanship. Eydie Alyson will play Dee Dee, a perky and optimistic guardian angel sent to help Cindy, and Nanci Zoppi will play her tougher and brassier counterpart, Marge.
Now despite the fact that this cute performance, which will use any storyline lead-in for a song, has a strong demographic for the generation the girls are singing about, Nanci Zoppi has singing chops, when she belted out "RESPECT" everyone was cheering. This is a bubbly, effervescent feel good musical that brings on great nostalgia to the people have come to see it!
