Dinner and a Movie Under the Stars...

Beautiful drive into Agricultural wonderland,  a golden sunset, leaving traffic and gridlock behind for wind and greenery everywhere, what's normal to the people of Winters comes as an utter pleasure to urbanites, a cultural separation...Everyone says something different about how it feels to be outside, with no buildings around, but it really is a transportive feeling, it takes being in the beauty to understand it!

Once we parked under an awning of olive trees and set up our blankets and coolers of beer in front of the farm where Bottleshock is being projected on the side of, we headed to the olive oil bar and to take in the beauty of the farm - a quick event put together by Sean Mcnamara and his business partner/friend Toby Hastings.

This was not only a premiering of their Olive oil Mish but also showcasing the new pizza oven that this farm has done so much to ensure goes in! After taking in the gardens (bugs) and the three-tiered seating fire pit we jump into line (already huge, these people hopped to it quick!) and awaited the pizza. Working the line in wonderfully charming style Craig Mcnamara, Sean's father and owner of Serria Orchards, helped out with the line by sharing the second flush of the olive oil, bread, and tastes of Turkovich Rose!

On to the pizza we had...
Menu:
Salad Course ~ Braised Green Garlic Red Kale, Sierra Orchards walnuts, and Mish Olive Oil.

Bread from Josey Baker Bread wish Mish tasting station.

Pizza Course ~ Orson restaurant, rated "Best Upscale Pizza" by SF Weekly, has donated they're famous dough! Toppings included:

Prosciutto Pie - zucchini,  salt cured olives, arugula pesto, red sauce
Coppa di Testa Pie - green garlic cream sauce, lemon, arugula flowers, chili
Garden Pie - zucchini flowers, walnuts, mozzarella di bufulo, marinara, lemon zest

Dessert Course ~ Toby's legendary strawberry shortcake, berries from the garden.

With beers drunk and a robust red wine in hand Bottle Shock was the perfect end to this evening, under the stars - this movie, projected on the side of a barn - shows (fictional liberties aside) the golden age of an Agricultural community, where neighbors helped each other, one win is everyone's win, and shows what can be done when passion is met with soil - the perfect movie for such an evening!
Plus who doesn't love Alan Rickman?
