Bows and Arrows Collective - Indie Foodie Bliss

Noticed a noticeably indie vibe while near the 19th and R Street area?
It's probably because of the recent opening of an artistic and culinary collective known as

Bows and Arrows is a consignment store, art gallery, cafe with unique wine and beer lists, and expansive seating.

Looking for good eats? Jayme’s Fat Face imported from Davis is serving up sandwiches, sweets, and small plates. After personal experience eating these eats, I knew I was in for a good thing. These eats are as good as they are different:
  • Cola Braised Pork, Cotija Cheese, Salsa, Romaine $10.5
  • Mesquite Smoked Pork, House BBQ Sauce, House Slaw, Garlicky Bread $10.5
  • Beer Poached Figs, Caramelized Onion, Arugula, Goat Cheese $9
  • Eggplant "Meatball", Romesco Sauce, Arugula, Smokey Mozzarella $9
  • BLP: Bacon Bits, Romaine, Arugula, Peaches, Feta Vinaigrette $8.5 - The BLP I had the other day was sweet from the peaches, salty from the bacon and feta, and crisp from the romaine, with the addition of the salad on the side it was a perfect shopping lunch.

They’ve also made their drinks list as adventurous as the menu, it’s seasonal (ever-changing), and approachable, here’s a sample of what they offer:
  • Wine
    • 2009 Setzer Gruner Veltliner (Austria) $6/$30 (liter)
    • 2009 Monpertuis Cotes-du-Rhone $7/$28
  •  Beer
    • Allagash White $5
    • Achouffe Houblon $16
    • North Coast La Merle Saison $9
I dare you to find a better place to eat, drink, shop, hangout and enjoy yourself!
