"I'm saying that when the President does it, it's not illegal."

The ultimate in drama for novices and policy wonks alike, FROST/NIXON went on national tour this year, stopping in Sacramento beginning April 15th-April 26th. The Frost/Nixon interviews were the most popular interviews to-date ever aired, giving solace and answering questions for people all around the world. This two hour drama depicts the lead time for both David Frost- British talk show host, a fun audience-familiar Johnny Carson-isk style, whom no professional journalist took seriously; and Richard Nixon, post-resignation, recovering from illness in California, seeking to re-shape a fractured once-pristine image. From talks about how much the interview would initially cost, to what questions were allowed to be asked down to the percentage allotted for each subject the first hour can be quite long for those of us not politically engaged, or lived the Nixon days on bated breath. But for all the first hour is long, the last 20 minutes make up for it in spades. In a pre-taping evening phone call made from Nixon to Frost one late and frustrating night legendary stage and screen actor Stacy Keach delivers a haunting and captivating monologue giving full force and effect to the final thoughts of a broken Nixon. After this harrowing phone call Frost is re-engaged to action and goes in for the kill, no longer the "Talk show host" but person to person looking for honest answers to horrible questions, to which Nixon finally answers, the finial screen shot depicts a defeated Nixon only then realizing his own fate. This performance was outstanding and a must see! check out information from http://www.californiamusicaltheatre.com/index.cfm?page=286488
