So in the coming series of posts, I'll be exploring my trip to Los Angeles, and it's foodie goodness showed to me by my favorite Los Angeles local and leader of the environmental movement in LA, Anja Gilbert. This particular post is dedicated to the Famous Los Angeles Farmers Market. As Sacramento has the 2nd biggest farmers market in CA I'm always on the hunt to find out the unique and treasured items found at the local markets of the places that I visit, the competition really. The Farmer's Market in LA was no exception. Now unbeknownst to me the Farmer's Market in question is not the "Farmer's Market at the Grove," this, just so all you foodies know, is not even a farmer's market it's a FOOD COURT! A fraud! The market we went to was in downtown LA and full of veggies, honey, cheeses, crazy bread makers, and open air food areas! A must see for any foodies trip to LA, so check out this bit of Food Porn as the first in a series of LA epicurean adventures.

Yummies everywhere to make the perfect Anti-Pasti plate
A cornucopia of vegetables

Rare herb of note: Lemon Verbena
Musicians and Performers everywhere

Steamed Rice and Bananas in Banana Leafs $1
Richness to be found everywhere; farmer's markets are a thriving business for local farmers/ vendors/ and foodies alike. From open air food being served (only certain markets (special permits)) to a bounty of food that your local supermarket could never hope to compete with, these are always worth checking out. The food is never fresher and I'm always about shopping at the same place that a 3 Michelin star chef would shop at for his own food, and what goes in his award winning restaurant. Stay tuned for more of the LA crazy adventures...
